Here are a quick few snaps of Christmas from my spangly new camera. I think it's safe to say I was spoilt rotten this year and I'm so so grateful for such a lovely day and all the gorgeous presents I received. On Christmas day I ate absurd amounts of delicious food and my body was probably quite relieved when I went out with my mum to walk the dog!
On Boxing Day I made a quick visit to the sales in town and picked up the two blouses above (although the spotty one wasn't actually in the sale, typical me!) I was later treated to another roast with my family and yet again ate far too much! My big sister is now eight months pregnant, so it's exciting to find out how she's getting along.
I'm now looking forward to seeing in the New Year with Simon, I set off for his family home tomorrow morning.
I hope everyone else had a lovely Christmas and wishing you all a Happy New Year!

Today I had to work, but I still got into the Christmas spirit by munching my way through mince pies and other treats. I'm going for drinks tonight with some friends and I'm really looking forward to tomorrow (although I don't think I'll be able to persuade Jack to wear his antlers for the whole day!)

I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas!

On the Dunes

During the summer months East Head is the perfect sandy beach, but at the moment, with no sunbathers in sight, it is absolute heaven for an especially hyper springer spaniel. It was a pretty gloomy day on Thursday when I went along with my mum, but Jack couldn't care less and he very quickly became the soggiest (and happiest) dog in the world.

Only three days to go now, are you ready for Christmas? I think I finally might be!

I Love You Deer

Today Simon and I ventured to Bushy Park to go for a stroll and look for some deer (see what I did in the title?! Groan). When we first arrived we couldn't spot any deer anywhere and I was a bit concerned we wouldn't find any – Simon had never seen any in the wild before so we made it our mission to hunt them down. After walking around for a bit we realised there were loads of them right under our noses! They blend in with the grass so well, to the point that it was a bit tricky to take photos of them.
It was a gorgeous day, but as I'm writing this I can hear rain splattering on my windows so I think we escaped some seriously miserable weather!
I'm feeling slightly smug now in that I've done all of my Christmas shopping and I'm looking forward to going to my mum's house next week where I'll probably be doing a lot of baking, eating and watching Christmas television. What do you look forward to the most over Christmas?

Raise Up Cups of Christmas Cheer

My blog seems to have gone a bit Christmas crazy lately! Maybe I should try to calm my festive excitement for my next post.
Tonight I've had a relaxed evening drinking hot chocolate, watching Love Actually and wrapping up presents. I picked up this wrapping paper in Muji and made my own tags by gluing it onto a cereal box. I just cut the card into shape and made them fit for purpose with a hole punch. The red and white string was absolute an bargain on eBay – it was £1.65 AND it was buy one get one free. I can't wait to put these under the tree at my mum's in a couple of weeks!

It's beginning...

Simon and I thought we'd at least pretend to be organised this year and make a head start on our Christmas shopping, so we ventured to Westfields shopping centre in Stratford. I'm probably stating the obvious, but there are SO many shops there! The first shop we went to was Primark which, in hindsight, was probably a bit of a mistake as I only bought things for myself. Oops. After that small blip I did manage to get the hang of the Christmas shopping thing and only bought gifts for my family rather than myself!

On saturday we braved the crowds and went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. It was absolutely rammed, but we persevered, ate a bratwurst and enjoyed watching the ice skating.
I was so so so cold that afterwards we dashed to New Look so I could buy the biggest (and warmest) ear muffs in the world. I'm annoyed that I forgot to get a picture of them, I'll try and get one for another post.

Today we went to Covent Garden and somehow ended up at South Bank. The Christmas market here was definitely much more relaxed than the one at Winter Wonderland!

I'm pretty shocked at how much Christmas we've managed to squeeze in this weekend, I think it's safe to say we won't be watching a festive film tonight! It's been lovely though and has been a relief to get most of my Christmas shopping out the way.

This weekend I decided to pay my mum a visit and we went to a Christmas market in the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum. The museum is mostly outside and has a lot of reconstructed old buildings. My big sister actually got married here in April this year and it was a gorgeous setting (although it’s a shame the April showers couldn’t hold off for the whole day, Abby and Ian had a very soggy ride in the horse and cart!)
You’re allowed to take dogs into the museum so my mum was able to take her crazy springer spaniel. He can be incredibly naughty but he’s very loveable! The market was so so busy, but it had plenty of stalls and it was really lovely to start getting into the Christmas spirit. Now I just need to sort out my Christmas shopping!
The rest of my weekend consisted of Friday night drinks with my friend Christina and paying a visit my friend Bex in her spangly new flat. It's been a relaxing and lazy couple of days.
Have you been to any Christmas markets yet?

Review | Models Own Mirrorball Disco Inferno

Models Own in Disco Inferno from the Mirrorball Collection | Missguided Nail Splash in Missfit
20121111_153811
I’ve had my eye on the Models Own Mirrorball collection ever since it was announced and I picked up Disco Inferno during one of the 3 for 2 offers in Boots. It’s described as a glide on glitter which leaves a frosted finish. I love the colour gold so it was an easy decision when choosing which shade!
I put it over this dark shade to show off the big chucks of glitter – it looks really lovely when it catches the light and I think I’ll be using it a lot, especially over Christmas. It’s just such a shame that all these pretty glitters are such a nightmare to remove!

Winter Wish List #1 Accessorize Favourites

I stumbled across the Accessorize website yesterday and I really had to restrain myself from making an order (especially as they are offering free delivery at the moment!) But I was very sensible and settled with compiling a wishlist instead – cue my bank balance heaving a sigh of relief! In my dream world I would have the whole shop in my house, but here are a few of my favourite items.
accessorizewishlist

1. Flock Dock Leather Glove, £22 – My hands get very dry during the winter months and I would love a pair of leather gloves to keep them as snug as possible when I'm braving the frosty air. Plus I'm a real sucker for polka dots.
2. Pearly Rose Stud Earrings, £4 – I used to love my massive statement earrings, but now I'm much more content with a pair of delicate studs.
3. Tomasina Cat Ballerina, £26 – I've seen these cat style shoes on a few different blogs recently and they're so cute! I'm not really a heels girl so I would love to get my hands on these for evenings out.
4. Aztec Illusion Nail Polish, £4 – I've been slowly building up my nail polish collection and I think this is a pretty wintery colour.
5. Emerald Jewel Long Pendant, £8 – This is such a stunning colour and would be perfect to dress up an outfit over the party season.
6. Fox Phone Sock, £4 –When I first got my phone I was sooo careful with it but I'm a little ashamed to say that my clumsiness has got the better of me and it has been dropped on more than once occasion. This foxy phone sock would be brilliant to help cushion any unfortunate falls and protect it from scratches.
7. Doctor Sarah Stag Bag, £45 – This bag was the main reason I ventured across to the Accessorize website in the first place. I found it on Little Bear Found's blog and I just think it's gorgeous. I have a feeling that this might be number 1 on my Christmas list!
8. Chunky Cable Fur Trim Beanie, £15 – I've bought two new scarves this year and they both have bold patterns on them, so I'm eyeing up this (relatively) plain hat so I could wear it with both of them.

October Highlights

AUTUMN

Autumn is definitely my favourite season so I'm very pleased it's back! I love the gorgeous colours of the leaves scattered along the pavements and I really love that satisfying crunch when you step on them. I'm also a huge fan of wrapping up warm and feeling snug in chunky knits –  I actually feel a bit lost in the summer and I never really know what to wear. If only it was a little bit easier to get out of my toasty bed on the chilly mornings!

OMBRE HAIR
dipdye2
I'm a bit late to the party with this one, but I've wanted ombre hair for a little while now. After a rather unfortunate home-dye attempt (which I promptly covered over with brown!) I had it done at a salon. Simon's brother Stuart is training to be a hairdresser so he did this for me on one of the 'model' nights. I absolutely love it and it only cost £12! Obviously it has damaged the ends of my hair a LOT, but I've been conditioning it a lot and also been using Moroccon Oil and it has noticeably improved.

MY BIRTHDAY!

It was my birthday at the end of October and it was really lovely to spend the day with my family – and being a little bit spoilt! Above is the sugary cake my mum made for me and an indulgent present from my flatmates (how gorgeous is Georgia's handwriting?).

I went back to Chichester twice this month and it was so nice to stay with my mum, her hyper dog and my favourite little cat again.

FANTASIA AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL

These tickets were one of my birthday presents from Simon and it was a really amazing performance. The perfect way to spend an evening.

What was your favourite bit of October?
